Departure airports

Every London business-aviation airport

Seven fields ring the M25, each with its own fleet, curfew, and drive-time trade-off. Tell us where you are and where you are going; we book the airport that makes the flight cheapest and quickest.

LTN

London Luton

32 miles / 55 min north of central London

The workhorse of UK private aviation. Two dedicated FBOs (Signature and Harrods Aviation), fastest turn-times, most operator bases in the country. First choice for cost-sensitive charters and short-notice departures.

  • Hours24/7
  • Best forLight, Midsize, Super-mid, Heavy
FAB

Farnborough

37 miles / 55 min south-west of central London

Purpose-built business-aviation airport with no scheduled traffic. Fastest customs and immigration in the London area – typically 5 minutes from car door to aircraft door. Preferred for transatlantic and Middle East departures.

  • Hours07:00 – 22:00
  • Best forMidsize, Super-mid, Heavy, Ultra-long
LCY

London City

9 miles / 25 min east of central London (Canary Wharf-adjacent)

Closest airport to the City and Canary Wharf. Steep 5.5° approach requires specific pilot certification and limits fleet to steep-approach-certified aircraft (e.g. Embraer Legacy 650, Dassault Falcon 7X, Cessna Citation Latitude). Restricted weekend hours.

  • HoursMon-Fri 06:30-22:30, Sat 06:30-13:00, Sun 12:30-22:30
  • Best forLight jet, Midsize (steep-approach certified)
BQH

London Biggin Hill

14 miles / 45 min south-east of central London

Historic Battle-of-Britain airfield reinvented as a private-aviation hub. Strong helicopter transfer options into central London (12 min to Battersea). Growing FBO scene and dedicated customs.

  • Hours06:30 – 22:00 (extendable on request)
  • Best forLight, Midsize, Super-mid
LGW

London Gatwick

28 miles / 60 min south of central London

Used for larger private charters (BBJ, ACJ, converted airliners) and group charters where FBOs at LTN or FAB can't accommodate. Slot-restricted – book earlier.

  • Hours24/7
  • Best forHeavy, Ultra-long, Airliner charters
STN

London Stansted

37 miles / 60 min north-east of central London

Second option for heavy metal and airliner-sized private charters. Full customs, capable of handling A340 / 747 private variants for delegations and sports teams.

  • Hours24/7
  • Best forHeavy, Ultra-long, Group / airliner charters
LHR

London Heathrow

15 miles / 45 min west of central London

Private jets can operate at Heathrow but slot allocation is scarce and costly – typically only used for VVIP, head-of-state, or where the passenger's onward connection makes LHR unavoidable. Not our default recommendation.

  • Hours06:00 – 23:00 (curfew)
  • Best forHeavy, Ultra-long, Special-purpose

Why Jetz London

A London desk, not a global call centre

Chartering out of London has quirks — steep-approach City curfews, Farnborough VIP handling, empty-legs from private-heavy Luton. We fly this airspace every day.

01

Every London airport, one broker

We book LTN, FAB, LCY, BQH, LGW, STN and LHR interchangeably. If Luton is slot-restricted at 06:30, we route through Farnborough. If London City is fogged in, we swap to Biggin Hill.

02

Steep-approach fleet, sorted

Only a subset of jets are certified for London City's 5.5° approach. We keep the Legacy 650, Falcon 7X and Citation Latitude short-list ready so Canary Wharf trips do not lose you an hour to Luton transfers.

03

Empty-legs from the UK, first

The UK is Europe's densest empty-leg market. Our desk sees repositioning flights out of London before the industry-wide portals do, cutting 50 to 75 percent off spot rates when the timing lines up.

04

Transparent, all-in pricing

Every quote breaks down aircraft, crew, fuel, catering, ground handling and airport fees. Our fee sits on the operator side, not yours. What you sign is what you pay.

Client voices

Trusted for the flights that matter

"Quoted London City to Nice at 22:00 on a Friday, signed by 22:20, wheels up from LCY the next morning. Every option came with tail number and operator up front."

H. Marchetti · Family office, Mayfair

"Three operator options with transparent pricing, including landing fees and repositioning. No surprise invoices at the end. Rare in this industry."

S. Kravitz · CFO, PE fund

"Last-minute Farnborough to Teterboro on a Global 6000 with 90 minutes' notice. The desk handled US customs paperwork before I finished packing."

Questions

Frequently asked

Which London airport should I fly from?
Luton (LTN) is the default: 24/7, two FBOs, most operators, best pricing. Farnborough (FAB) is faster on customs and preferred for transatlantic or Middle East departures. London City (LCY) is closest to Canary Wharf but limited to steep-approach-certified aircraft with weekend curfews. Biggin Hill (BQH) serves south London and Kent. Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted are available for larger aircraft or connections but slower on the ground.
How fast can I actually fly out of London?
Same-day departure is standard from Luton and Farnborough. On a typical weekday we can confirm an aircraft in 2 to 4 hours and be wheels-up within 4 to 6 hours of your first call. Overnight or weekend requests may need a little more lead time for slot allocation.
How is the pricing calculated?
Charter pricing is per-flight, not per-seat, and includes aircraft, crew, fuel, standard catering, ground handling and airport fees. Empty-legs — one-way repositioning flights out of the UK — can cut cost by 50 to 75 percent when they match your route and timing.
Do you charge a booking fee?
No. Our fee is invoiced to the operator, not to you. You see the same all-in price the operator would quote directly, plus our sourcing service on top.
Can I fly from London City in any aircraft?
No. London City's 5.5° steep approach requires specific pilot certification and limits the fleet to steep-approach-certified aircraft, typically the Embraer Legacy 650, Dassault Falcon 7X, Cessna Citation Latitude and a handful of others. If your preferred aircraft is not on that list, Luton or Biggin Hill is the working alternative.
Is Jetz London the operator, or a broker?
Jetz London is a licensed charter broker. Every flight is operated by a CAA, FAA Part 135, EASA CAT, or equivalent certified operator. We hand-pick operators based on safety audits, insurance limits, and fleet age.
Can I bring pets, catering, or heavy luggage?
Yes. Pets travel in-cabin. Catering is bespoke, from espresso and sandwiches to full sit-down menus. Luggage capacity varies by aircraft; we match your bags, skis or golf clubs to the right cabin before you sign.
